My ceramics are handbuilt. This pinch bowl is handmade from grey earthstone handbuilding material. I take a small ball of clay and begin the process. I’m fascinated by using all of the clay in my hand to create the most delicate of bowls. This often leads to undulations in the rim. The inside I leave the slight marks from my thumbs bringing a softness. The outside I work to a perfectly smooth finish. It has Terra Sigillata slip applied and is burnished with a stone to complete the surface. It has an akaskan inspired design. Each piece has an individual design using texture and markings.
