Alan Ball … Black and White Shadow Raku Pot

£220.00

This pot is in my typical style. Shadow Raku is the term used to describe the method of decorating the surface of my pots, also known as Naked Raku or Sacrificial Raku.
When I’m making a pot my main concern is in form, when I’m throwing or building the pot, and the lines make up the design on the surface. So far I’m in complete control. The Shadow Raku method of firing does the magic for me. I expect a certain quality of surface, but it never ceases to surprise me how the fire and smoke and reduction atmosphere can enhance my efforts.
I have had many exhibitions in my 50plus years as a potter. My work can be seen at The Sculpt Gallery and The Biscuit Factory.
